Black Friday, or the start of the Black Friday shopping spree, is one of the busiest shopping days in America.
It’s also the busiest day of the year in the US for car dealerships, and some people shop online.
The National Association of Realtors (NAR) says black Friday sales hit $13.5bn in 2017, up nearly 50% from the previous year.
And that includes online retailers, which are booming this year, particularly online retailers that cater to the Black Saturday shopping frenzy.
And the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) says the Black Monday frenzy is expected to continue this year.
NADA president John Tilden says black-Friday sales are booming, but that the biggest reason is that it is a holiday, not a shopping day.
“We have to look at it in the context of the entire holiday season,” he told Al Jazeera.
“And when you look at black-outs, you know, there is a lot of shopping that takes place that takes up a lot more time than just Black Friday.”
Tilder said Black Friday is a “time for reflection”, which is important.
“I think that’s a good time for people to reflect on what they’re doing for their families and their communities,” he said.
“Black Friday is one that I think people really look at, and there are a lot people out there that are looking to do that.”
Told of the NADA’s estimates, Tildern said it’s probably true.
“It’s definitely one of those days where people are going to have a lot to look forward to,” he added.
Tildertn says Black Friday shoppers are the most likely to go online, and that the online shopping frenzy has made Black Friday a “great shopping day”.
The NADA estimates that a record-breaking 5.3 million Black Friday deals were offered online in the first three hours of Black Friday.
That was an all-time high, but Tildermann says the majority of deals that were offered on Black Friday were for a range of products.
“If you’re looking for a car or a pair of shoes, it might be a good day to buy a pair,” he explained.
“But if you’re buying a pair, you’re going to want to shop online.”
He added that many people, like people in New York, are “focusing on the shopping day” and “don’t realise that there are still some shopping days left”.
And he said Black Fridays are not just for Black Friday: “The Black Friday sales are for all of our retailers, so it’s a great day for everyone.”
The NAA says the NARA is expecting Black Friday to be the biggest shopping day of 2017 in the United States.
The NDA expects Black Friday in the USA to grow to more than $3bn by 2020.
The US retail sector accounts for about 80% of total US sales, with the auto sector the second largest.
According to NADA, Black Friday was the fastest-growing retail holiday in the country last year, rising more than 20% from 2017 to 2018.
The online retail industry has been growing, especially online retailers like Amazon and eBay.
“This year, the big online retailers are really ramping up their efforts on Black Fridays,” Tildercnn said.

For Amazon, the sales on Black Monday are part of a new strategy to get people to use the app more.
The Alexa Black Sunday Sales 2016 Amazon says the Alexa app sales are now used by 2.3 billion people, up from 1.3bn in 2016.
Amazon says it will continue to develop its Alexa app for mobile devices and will add new features and functionality in the future.
Amazon also said that its online grocery store AmazonFresh, which launched in February, has had an average revenue growth of more than 40% over the past year.
“These sales are one of Amazon’s most valuable drivers for growth,” Amazon said.
Told about the NAA’s figures, Tylertn said Amazon has been “really aggressive” in its online Black Friday advertising.
“We’ve been working hard on Black Sunday advertising,” he concluded.
“You can’t compete with Amazon for that kind of advertising.
The people that we’re reaching online have been doing Black Friday ads for years.”
The online Black Saturday advertising is also part of Amazon Prime Day, which was announced in September.
It is available on devices and in TV commercials.
In 2017, Amazon said that it will give Prime members an additional 10% discount on Black Thursday sales.
Amazon Prime members can choose to get a $15 gift card for the first year of the program, or $25 for each subsequent year of membership.
Amazon has also launched a free
