The U.S. Paintball Industry, which employs nearly 12 million people, has been struggling with an ever-expanding market.
While a recent report by the Association of Paintball Manufacturers showed a drop in the number of players coming to the paintball market, demand is still growing.
The industry is expected to have $12 billion in annual sales by 2021, according to industry sources.
Amazon’s Prime program, which gives customers free two-day shipping on any purchases, has helped boost the sales of gear like paintball equipment, but many consumers still aren’t willing to spend the extra cash on a new gun or equipment.
The company is also launching a new product line in its Prime Day Prime sale, which allows users to pick up any item they want for free in the Amazon Prime Store.
But some paintballers aren’t satisfied with what they see on Amazon.
The American Paintball Association, an industry trade group, released a report this week saying that the paintballs in the paint shop of the American Paintballs Association are among the least popular items on Amazon Prime Day.
The association said that paintball products are often overpriced, and the paint balls are also among the lowest quality.
The group says paintball accessories and accessories for paintball guns have the highest average prices on Amazon, and that most of the paint products on Amazon are not labeled as paintball related, making it hard to tell the difference between the two.
“We want to be clear that Amazon has been providing the best paintball product selection to the American paintball community for years,” said Jason Smith, president of the AAPA.
“But when it comes to accessories and paintballs, Amazon has consistently failed to deliver what our members are asking for.”
Amazon said in a statement that it is “actively investigating” the issue.
