(AP) A group of paintball players from Georgia has gone to paintball tournaments, but not in the style of their favorite teams.
Exalt Paintballs, an Atlanta-based paintball company that offers paintball and other recreational sports for players of all ages, decided to expand its offerings in 2017, with the aim of getting paintball fans, and people interested in paintball in general, to paint.
The goal is to attract new paintballers, who are less likely to be into the traditional sport of paintballs, said Chris Miller, a spokesman for Exalt.
Exalted is known for its large crowds and large tournaments, and it also has a small-scale, indoor paintball field that can hold up to 400 players.
Miller said Exalt will be one of the first to expand beyond paintball to paint-ball events outside of Georgia, and he said that they will start up in Atlanta in the next two to three years.
Ex alt’s lineup includes former Atlanta Falcons star Chris Ivory, who is now an ex-pro.
Miller described Ivory as a skilled player and said he would be a great addition to Exalt’s team.
“Chris is one of those guys who we’ve always wanted to bring in,” Miller said.
“He’s a great guy to bring into the group.”
Exalt will offer a paintball game on Saturday and Sunday, with events at several venues.
Miller also said the company is considering opening a small indoor field that will host two to four games.
ExALT will hold a paint ball tournament on Friday and Saturday at the Atlanta Armory, which is located in the southwest part of Atlanta.
The paintball event will feature four-to-six games, Miller said, with one team playing paintball.
Exalt hopes to hold a tournament there sometime in the fall, Miller added.
Ex alt will also hold paintball events at the Armory’s outdoor paintball fields, which are located in a parking lot next to the Armory.
Ex alts goal is for its events to be accessible for all people, Miller noted.
The Atlanta Armory will be the first of a growing number of Paintball events, Miller pointed out, as the state has a growing population of people who paintball or are interested in it.
Ex Alt’s paintball games have been popular in Atlanta and the greater metro area.
Ex alts events at paintball facilities will be open to anyone and have an official registration fee of $30 for the weekend and $25 on Sunday.
Ex elts events will be held at a paintballs paintball facility that costs $75.
Exalts paintball tournament games will start at 5 p.m. on Saturday, with a 10-team paintball league.
Exals games will begin at 6 p.M. on Sunday, when the four-day tournament begins.
Exalts and Exalt tournaments will start in late September.
Ex paintball leagues can be found on Facebook and Instagram, Miller told The Associated Press.
Ex elts and paintball will continue to expand, Miller acknowledged.
Ex-Atlanta Falcons player Chris Ivory is a former member of Exalt, Miller explained.
Ex Alt has a new paint ball field, located in an industrial park in the city of Atlanta, that will be used to host paintball matches.
Ex paintball has grown in popularity in Atlanta since it began in 2016.
Exelts current field is a parking lots in an area called the Atlanta Southtown.
Exelts games will feature paintball equipment and a range of other equipment, including paintballs guns, paintball pads and paintballs helmets.
Exsalt will have paintball guns at its paintball competitions.
Ex leagues will feature a variety of prizes, including Exalt badges, Exalt merchandise, Ex alt t-shirts and Ex alt hats.
Ex salts first paintball team, the Exalt City Paintball Team, began play in 2018.
